English favourite Lauren Selby took top honours at the Savcor Women's Finnish Open when she beat fellow Briton Deon Saffery in the final of the established $6,800 WISPA World Tour squash event at the Sport Forum in Mikkeli.

It was a case of third time lucky for the 26-year-old from Essex - sister of England international Daryl Selby, the world No10 - who made it to her third Tour final, but pulled off her first title success.

Selby reached the final without dropping a game - and faced surprise opponent Deon Saffery, the fifth seed from Wales who progressed through to the climax without meeting a single seeded player!

Favourite Selby took the opening game but Saffery fought back to draw level after a second game tie-break.

Selby stuck to her task, however, and after 54 minutes celebrated her title-winning 11-8, 10-12, 11-7, 11-8 triumph.
