England's Chris Ryder reached his second successive PSA World Tour semi-final against expectation when he survived a quarter-final marathon against fourth-seeded Colombian Miguel Angel Rodriguez in the $20,000 Coronation London Open at the Cumberland Lawn Tennis & Squash Club in north London.

The 30-year-old former World University champion from Leamington Spa now faces fellow countryman Jonathan Kemp. In a repeat of last year's final, title-holder Kemp beat compatriot Joey Barrington 11-7, 11-9, 11-6.

Canada's third seed Shahier Razik brought Joe Lee's brave run to an end when he beat the English qualifier 12-10, 9-11, 11-4, 11-3 in 45 minutes.

The 33-year-old from Toronto will face top seed Stewart Boswell for a place in the final. The former world No4 from Australia, who was also a Dutch Open semi-finalist, saw off seventh-seeded Mexican Arturo Salazar 11-4, 12-10, 11-2.
