Egypt's Andrew Wagih Shoukry emerged triumphant in the final battle between the two top seeds to win the Airtel Kenya Open in the Kenyan capital Nairobi.

Incredibly, Egyptian favourite Shoukry dropped games in each round en-route to his anticipated appearance in the climax of the $7,000 PSA World Tour event at Parklands Sports Club.

His opponent Joel Hinds, the No2 seed from England, was celebrating his second appearance in a Tour final since winning the gold medal in the World University Championships in Australia in July.

But it was 21-year-old Shoukry who claimed the spoils in the Kenya climax, beating Hinds 11-9, 8-11, 11-2, 11-4 in 44 minutes to secure the third tour title of his career.
