WORLD SQUASH NEWS Rachael Rises In New World Rankings While New Zealand's Carol Owens maintains her grip on the No1 position in the new May Women's World Squash Rankings, announced today (06 May) by the Women's International Squash Players' Association (WISPA), Australian Rachael Grinham jumps to a career-high No4. Grinham has collected three WISPA World Tour trophies over the past twelve months - winning both last year's Singapore Open and Credit Suisse Privilege Open in Hong Kong against the seeding, and triumphing in the Vassar College Open in the USA in February. Ahead of Grinham in the new list are USA's Natalie Pohrer at No2 and England's Linda Charman at three. There is a significant change in the English hierarchy as Rebecca Macree leaps two places to a career-best No7 to become England's second highest player in the list for the first time. A WISPA Tour player since 1987, Rebecca has reached three WISPA finals since last August and boasts eight semi-final berths over the past year. Cassie Jackman, the former world No1 who led England to success in the European Team Championships on Sunday - supported by Charman and Macree - slips below Macree to No9. Ireland's Madeline Perry, who was also in European Championships' action last week, moves up one place to a best ever world No19. 1 [1] Carol Owens NZL 2 [2] Natalie Pohrer USA 3 [3] Linda Charman ENG 4 [5] Rachael Grinham AUS 5 [4] Tania Bailey ENG 6 [6] Vanessa Atkinson NED 7 [9] Rebecca Macree ENG 8 [8] Natalie Grinham AUS 9 [7] Cassie Jackman ENG 10 [10] Jenny Tranfield ENG 11 [11] Fiona Geaves ENG 12 [12] Stephanie Brind ENG 13 [13] Omneya Abdel Kawy EGY 14 [14] Vicky Botwright ENG 15 [15] Pamela Nimmo SCO 16 [16] Suzanne Horner ENG 17 [17] Shelley Kitchen NZL 18 [18] Isabelle Stoehr FRA 19 [20] Madeline Perry IRL 20 [19] Rebecca Chiu HKG
