WORLD SQUASH NEWS Nicol Lead Complemented By French Revolution While England's Peter Nicol extends his unbroken reign at No1 to 17 months in the new May Dunlop PSA Men's World Rankings, announced today (07 May) by the Professional Squash Association (PSA), the key feature of the new list is the presence of three Frenchman in the top twenty for the first time. Thierry Lincou burst into the top ten in September 2001 and has maintained a place in the top eight since that date. The French champion, who led his country to the European Team Championships' final for the fourth successive year on Sunday, is joined in the world elite by fellow Parisian Renan Lavigne, at No20, and Gregory Gaultier, the twice European Junior Champion from Aix-en-Provence who makes his top twenty debut at 18. Australia's David Palmer maintains his position at No2 in the new list, ahead of Canada's Jonathon Power at No3. Scotland's John White overtakes Australian Stewart Boswell to claim the No4 place. Egypt's former world junior champion Karim Darwish maintains his world top ten march to rise to a career-high No8 position - while Pakistan squash is boosted by the three-place jump by left-hander Mansoor Zaman to a career-best world No11 ranking. Canadian squash is given a lift by the return to the top twenty after a 14-month absence of Graham Ryding at 19 - and the top thirty debut of Shahier Razik, at 27. 1 [1] Peter Nicol ENG 2 [2] David Palmer AUS 3 [3] Jonathon Power CAN 4 [5] John White SCO 5 [4] Stewart Boswell AUS 6 [6] Thierry Lincou FRA 7 [7] Anthony Ricketts AUS 8 [9] Karim Darwish EGY 9 [8] Lee Beachill ENG 10 [10] Ong Beng Hee MAS 11 [14] Mansoor Zaman PAK 12 [12] Joseph Kneipp AUS 13 [17] Simon Parke ENG 14 [11] Mark Chaloner ENG 15 [13] Martin Heath SCO 16 [19] Omar Elborolossy EGY 17 [15] Alex Gough WAL 18 [22] Gregory Gaultier FRA 19 [24] Graham Ryding CAN 20 [25] Renan Lavigne FRA
