WORLD SQUASH NEWS White Rises To Three In New World Rankings England's Peter Nicol maintains his grip on the No1 position in the new June Dunlop PSA Men's World Rankings, announced today (30 May) by the Professional Squash Association (PSA), but Scotland's John White rises to No3 after his triumph in the PSA Masters in Qatar last week. White, the hard-hitting former Australian who celebrates his 30th birthday in June, has found a rich vein of form since moving to Nottingham in England. Beaten finalist in the British Open, South African Challenge and World Open last year, then in the Swedish Open in February, White finally took the limelight at the second PSA Super Series event of the year in Doha when he beat France's Thierry Lincou in the final after overcoming Nicol, the top seed, in the semi-finals. Despite being out of action since the removal of his appendix in March, Australian David Palmer retains his No2 slot in the June list, but Jonathon Power slips to four, his lowest position for almost 18 months. The Canadian won the Super Series Finals title (a non-ranking event) for the first time earlier this month - then crashed out of the PSA Masters at the second round stage. France's Gregory Gaultier continues his top twenty rise, moving two further places to a career-high No16 after pulling off the biggest first round upset in Doha with a five-game win over Australia's fourth seed Stewart Boswell, the world No6. England's Nick Taylor and Egypt's Amr Shabana return to the top twenty at 18 and 20, respectively. Meanwhile England's former European Junior champion Adrian Grant, the 22-year-old from London who is now based in Halifax in Yorkshire, has seen his ranking rise six places to a career-high world No22 after he secured an unexpected place in the second round of the PSA Masters after despatching Pakistan's 13th seed Mansoor Zaman. 1 [1] Peter Nicol ENG 2 [2] David Palmer AUS 3 [4] John White SCO 4 [3] Jonathon Power CAN 5 [6] Thierry Lincou FRA 6 [5] Stewart Boswell AUS 7 [7] Anthony Ricketts AUS 8 [8] Karim Darwish EGY 9 [10] Ong Beng Hee MAS 10 [9] Lee Beachill ENG 11 [12] Joseph Kneipp AUS 12= [13] Simon Parke ENG 12= [15] Martin Heath SCO 14= [17] Alex Gough WAL 14= [14] Mark Chaloner ENG 16 [18] Gregory Gaultier FRA 17 [11] Mansoor Zaman PAK 18 [22] Nick Taylor ENG 19 [19] Graham Ryding CAN 20 [23] Amr Shabana EGY
