Ranieri In Early World Championships Breakthrough

Canada's Miranda Ranieri pulled off the first upset on the opening day's play in the Women's World Junior Squash Championships in Cairo when she defeated Spain's 5/8 seed Margaux Moros-Pitarch 0-9 9-5 9-3 9-7 in the second round. 

Favourite Omneya Abdel Kawy, the 17-year-old from Cairo who is 12 in the women's world rankings, took just 15 minutes to overcome Swiss opponent Corinne Scarlato 9-1 9-1 9-0.
