Azlan Lands Third Zaman In Peshawar

Malaysia's Mohamed Azlan Iskandar will become the first player to face all three Zaman cousins in the same PSA Tour event when he meets third seed Mansoor Zaman in the semi-finals of the $25,000 CAS International Squash Championship in Pakistan.

The unseeded former Asian Junior Champion from Kuala Lumpur upset Shahid Zaman, the 7th seed, in the first round in Peshawar - then survived an 88-minute quarter-final battle against Farrukh Zaman to win 15-7 15-13 9-15 13-15 15-12.  Farrukh, also unseeded, had earlier delighted his hometown fans by knocking out the top-seeded Egyptian Amr Shabana in five games at the PAF Complex.

Left-hander Mansoor Zaman, at 18 in the world the highest ranked of the cousins, took 47 minutes to overcome Egypt's sixth seed Omar Elborolossy 15-11 10-15 15-12 15-12.

The other semi-final will be the all-French affair predicted by the seedings, between the No2 seed Gregory Gaultier and fourth seed Renan Lavigne.  Gaultier, the world No17 from Aix-en-Provence, needed 64 minutes to overcome Australia's 8th seed John Williams 15-13 15-10 9-15 15-10, while Lavigne, from Montcerf, brushed aside the challenge of Egypt's fifth-seeded Mohammed Abbas 15-11 15-12 11-15 15-4 in 45 minutes.
