Naude Knocks Out Chiu In Atlanta

Annelize Naude produced the only upset on the second day of the Women's Atlanta Masters Squash Championship when she beat Hong Kong's Rebecca Chiu in the quarter-finals in Atlanta, USA.

Naude, the fifth seed based in Amsterdam, defeated the fourth-seeded Asian Games champion 9-6 9-6 6-9 6-9 9-6 to earn an unexpected place in the semi-finals where she will meet England's Jenny Duncalf.

Duncalf, the sixth seed, put an end to the giant-killing run of unseeded compatriot Alison Waters in a 9-1 5-9 9-6 9-5 win.

The other semi-final will feature England's top seed Vicky Botwright and Ireland's Madeline Perry, who enjoyed straight games victories over USA's Latasha Khan and Scotland's Wendy Maitland, respectively.
