Razik Upsets Ryding To Reach Manitoba Final

In their third PSA Tour meeting in three weeks, third seed Shahier Razik upset fellow Canadian and top seed Graham Ryding in a five-game thriller to provide unexpected local interest in the final of the ADL Optical/Rodenstock Manitoba Squash Open in Manitoba, Canada.

World No28 Razik first beat his fellow Torontonian, ranked 14 places higher, in last August's Pan American Games final.  The Cairo-born 26-year-old again got the better of the experienced Ryding in a PSA event in November in Saskatoon in Canada before they shared the results in two US Tour events in January.

In Manitoba, Razik twice had to fight back from behind before overcoming two-times Canadian National champion Ryding 8-15 15-9 13-15 15-5 15-13.

In the other semi-final, Australia's No2 seed Paul Price put paid to an all-Canadian final by beating Matthew Giuffre, the sixth seed from Edmonton, 13-15 15-9 15-11 15-11 to reach his 18th PSA Tour final.
