Cool Koukal Punishes Evans In Prague

Czech squash star Jan Koukal contrived the best win of his career - and delighted his loyal local fans - when he upset former British Open champion David Evans to reach the final of the Hi-Tec & Dunlop Czech Open in his hometown of Prague.

Koukal, the 20-year-old who is ranked 51 in the world, despatched the second-seeded Welshman 15-9 15-11 15-7 in a 50-minute semi-final to become the first Czech to reach the event's final since it became a PSA Tour ranking event in 2000.

Now in his third PSA final, but seeking his first title success, Koukal will face England's defending champion Peter Genever.  In the other semi-final, the 30-year-old top seed from Chichester in Sussex defeated Qatar-based Mohammed Essam Hafiz, the No3 seed, 15-10 15-11 15-11.
