Coufal Celebrates Third Austrian Junior Open Success

Austria's Birgit Coufal celebrated her third national junior open title in four years when she beat Finland's Elina Kononen 7-9 9-3 9-1 9-1 in the women's U-19 final of the Austrian Junior Open Squash Championships in Vienna.

The success in her last year as a junior made up for the disappointment of losing in the 2003 final.

In the men's final, Finland's No2 seed Matias Tuomi, a semi-finalist twelve months ago, upset Malaysia's top seed Kim Lee Wong 10-8 9-7 10-8.  It was a reverse of the result of the Hungarian Junior Open last November and the Finnish teenager's first European Junior Grand Prix title.
