Parke & Evans To Renew Rivalry In Liechtenstein Opener

Leading British squash players Simon Parke and David Evans have been drawn to meet in the first round of the Interlingua Liechtenstein Open, the first PSA Tour event to be staged in the Principality in central Europe which lies between Austria and Switzerland.

Parke, the seventh seed from Nottingham in England, who is a former US Open champion, will face Welshman David Evans, a former British Open champion who came through the qualifiers after beating Sweden's Christian Drakenberg 5-15 15-8 15-11 15-6.

Both players - who share former world number three rankings - are fighting back to form after injury setbacks, with eight-times Welsh champion Evans currently languishing outside the world top 50.

Local interest in the event will be led by Switzerland's Lars Harms, who defeated Bermuda's Nicholas Kyme in the final qualifying round to earn a first round clash with Welsh No1 Alex Gough, the second seed.
