Dutchman Piedro Schweertman claimed the second PSA World Tour title of his career in convincing fashion on home soil after seeing off the strong and spirited challenge of French prospect Lucas Serme in the final of the $3,000 Q-sourcing Squash Trophy at SquashCentrum Barendrecht in Barendrecht.

The 26-year old top seed from The Hague powered his way through to the climax of the satellite event in without dropping a game, disposing of English duo Alex Ingham and Mark Fuller, as well as Egypt’s Ali Farag in straight games.

By contrast, 18-year old Serme came through qualifying and three tough main draw matches against Austrian Andre Haschker and Dutchmen Rene Mijs and Sebastian Weenink to reach his maiden PSA final.

The final was played at a furious pace with Schweertman taking the early advantage.  From half-way through the first, the young Serme steadied and matched his more experienced opponent shot for shot for the remainder of the match.

However it was Schweertman who proved more decisive at the end of each game, eventually running away with a hard-fought 11-8, 12-10, 11-8 victory.
