The Professional Squash Association is celebrating its first  PSA World
Tour event in  Jordan.

The Royal Jordanian Open Satellite event will take place at  the Al Hussein
Sport City in Amman, the capital of Jordan,  this week from 24-27 March.
"Our sport is ever expanding and growing," said PSA CEO Alex  Gough.  "To
be able to add  another country to our list is great news.

"In 2009 we had events in 47 countries and we have players from 65
countries.  This is surely a  sign that squash is a truly global  sport."
Ramzi  Tabbalat,  President of the Jordan Squash Federation, is also upbeat
about the  breakthrough:  "We are really  excited about this tournament.

Bringing the PSA and world-class  players to Amman will not only re-ignite
enthusiasm for the sport but will  help us in increasing the number of players
in the country.

"We want this tournament to succeed in every aspect as we prepare  for the
next PSA-sanctioned tournament in Amman in May  2010."
