Gordon & Duplomb Claim German Open Success

France's Maud Duplomb and the USA's Christopher Gordon both had to overcome top seeds before claiming their first European Squash Federation (ESF) Junior Circuit titles by winning the men's and women's trophies, respectively, in the German Junior Open Squash Championships in Gerlingen.

Duplomb, a 3/4 seed, despatched second-seeded compatriot Celia Allamargot 9-7 9-6 10-8 in the semi-finals before beating the Austrian favourite Birgit Coufal, the three-times Austrian Junior Open champion, 9-2 9-10 9-5 9-2 in the women's final.

Gordon was also a 3/4 seed, who avenged last year's quarter-final loss by beating top-seeded Frenchman Yann Perrin 7-9 9-4 9-6 9-4 in the men's semi-finals.  In the final, Gordon dashed local hopes of success when he defeated fellow 3/4 seed Simon Rosner, from Germany, 9-6 5-9 9-5 9-2.
