Upsets Lead To All-English Final In Vegas

Jenny Duncalf and Jenny Tranfield will meet in a surprise all-English final of the 'Bright Lights' Women's Las Vegas Squash Open after pulling off notable upsets in the semi-finals at the Club Sport Green Valley in Nevada.

Duncalf, the 21-year-old fourth seed from Harrogate in Yorkshire, was 1/2 down to top seed and compatriot Rebecca Macree - but maintained her focus and powered to a 9-3 3-9 6-9 9-5 9-4 victory over the world No9 to reach only the second WISPA World Tour final of her short career.

Tranfield, the more experienced eighth seed, was in devastating form in her battle against fifth-seeded New Zealander Shelley Kitchen.  Only days after winning the Squashworks Open title against the odds in Salt Lake City, Tranfield claimed her second successive upset in Las Vegas to sink Kitchen 9-3 9-4 6-9 9-4 in a 90-minute marathon.

The 29-year-old world No17 from Milton Keynes is celebrating her 12th appearance in a WISPA final.
