Anjema Nets Mexican Title

In his third PSA Tour final appearance in as many weeks, Dutchman Laurens Jan Anjema captured the Corona Britania Squash Open trophy when he beat local star Eric Galvez in the final in Queretaro City in the heart of Mexico.

While top seed Anjema coasted through to the final without dropping a game, Mexican No1 Eric Galvez, the No2 seed, met tough and unexpected opposition in the form of two local qualifiers in the previous two rounds.

After beating compatriot Jose Angel Becerril 15-6 15-7 15-8 in the quarter-finals, Galvez needed 75 minutes to quash fellow Mexican Jorge Baltazar 15-9 13-15 15-11 15-8 to reach the final.

Anjema, the 21-year-old from The Hague who broke into the world's top 40 this month after winning the Dutch Open in May, had to work hard for his Corona Britania title, beating Galvez 15-7 13-15 15-7 15-6 in 73 minutes to claim the fourth PSA Tour title of his career.
