Duncalf Debuts In World Top Ten

While England's Cassie Jackman retains her No1 position in the new July Women's World Squash Rankings, announced today (30 June) by the Women's International Squash Players' Association (WISPA), compatriot Jenny Duncalf celebrates a top ten debut at No10.

In an unchanged top five, Australia's Rachael Grinham holds onto second place, with Dutch No1 Vanessa Atkinson at three; USA's Natalie Grainger at four; and Rachael's younger sister Natalie Grinham at five.

Jackman, who extends her reign at the top of the world rankings to six unbroken months, has enjoyed a memorable few months off court.  Married in March to Australian Matt Thomas, the 31-year-old from Norfolk was awarded an 'MBE' in the Queen's Birthday Honours list in June.  Jackman will be aiming to bag her 27th WISPA World Tour title at the first Brunei Open, one of three major women's events being staged in July.

Jenny Duncalf has made rapid progress on the international circuit since going full-time in 2001.  The 21-year-old from Harrogate in Yorkshire claimed her first Tour title at the Atlanta Masters in the USA last October, and toppled top-seeded compatriot Rebecca Macree to reach the final of the 'Bright Lights' Las Vegas Open in May.

The indefatigable Fiona Geaves moves up to No6 in the new list, just one place away from her best-ever ranking in September 2001.  The 36-year-old from Gloucester, a British Open Over-35 champion, is enjoying her 15th year on the WISPA Tour - and has already reached two Tour finals this year.

One new name in the July list is England's Linda Elriani, the world No7.  The former Miss Charman married French international Laurent Elriani in June, and will compete for the first time under her new name in the Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur at the end of July.
