Only days after reaching a career-high No22 in the Dunlop PSA World Rankings, Yorkshireman Matthew slumped 8-15 15-3 17-15 13-15 15-13 to fifth-seeded Canadian Shahier Razik. Razik, the 25-year-old world No35 from Toronto, now meets fourth-seeded Frenchman Gregory Gaultier, who despatched Ireland's 8th seed Liam Kenny 15-12 15-8 15-7 - and is now one match away from his second successive Windy City Open final. Gaultier's compatriot Renan Lavigne, the third seed, also reached the last four with an identical scoreline - beating England's Tim Garner to earn a semi-final clash with top seed Paul Price. The Australian needed four games to overcome qualifier Mark Heather 15-7 15-17 15-9 15-8.
