Third Chance For Power In Cleveland

US-based Englishman Julian Wellings swept to an 11-7 11-1 11-2 victory over Bermuda's Nicholas Kyme in just 28 minutes in the qualifying finals of the new Cleveland Squash Classic in Ohio, USA - and will now face top seed Jonathon Power in the first round of the main draw.

This will be the Canadian's third US appearance this month in a PSA Tour event which he has been seeded to win.  The 30-year-old former world No1 from Montreal, however, failed to progress beyond the semi-finals in both the Motor City Open in Detroit and St Louis Open in Missouri.

Power is due to face second seed Graham Ryding in an all-Canadian final on Saturday.

France's Laurent Elriani was another qualifying finals survivor - but the English-based world No87 took 81 minutes to overcome compatriot Julien Balbo 11-10 11-10 5-11 11-4 to set up a first round clash with Australia's third seed Paul Price.
