WORLD SQUASH NEWS RESULTS: Artemis Women's Edinburgh Squash Open, Edinburgh, Scotland Final: [1] Cassie Jackman (ENG) bt [2] Wendy Maitland (SCO) 9-2, 9-1, 9-6 Joyful Jackman Wins In Edinburgh Cassie Jackman came through her WISPA World Tour comeback tournament in majestic style in Scotland when she clinched the Artemis Women's Edinburgh Squash Open title at the Edinburgh Sports Club without conceding a single game throughout the event. After becoming the first woman to win two medals in two successive Commonwealth Games in Manchester last summer, the former world champion and world No1 from Norfolk was forced to return to the Queens Hospital in Nottingham in September to undergo career-threatening surgery on her back for the second time in two years. Top-seeded Jackman, the world No7 who dropped only eleven points en-route to the final, comfortably overcame second-seeded Scot Wendy Maitland 9-2 9-1 9-6 to earn her 21st WISPA World Tour title since her first in Switzerland in March 1991. The win will be a confidence-booster for Jackman, who turned 30 last month, as she prepares to defend her British National Championships title at Manchester's National Squash Centre - home of her Commonwealth Games' successes last year - next month.
