Bianchetti, the second seed who hails from Brescia, had reached the final for the third successive year without dropping a game. The fifth-seeded Spaniard, however, had gate-crashed the $10,000 event climax for the second time in a row after pulling off the biggest upset in the quarter-finals where he beat top-seeded Dutchman Tommy Berden in four games. The Italian was eager to make up for previous years' disappointments, but Golan was in no mood to relinquish his title to the local hero. The 20-year-old Spanish No1 from Santiago, who broke into the world top 50 this month, took four games to overcome Bianchetti in a 15-14 15-9 12-15 15-11 scoreline. The stunning victory extended Golan's impressive record on the PSA Tour to four title wins from four final appearances - all of which were against the seeding!
